Miss Universe 2011 is Miss Angola

25 year old Business Management student from Angola, Leila Lopes won the 60th Miss Universe pageant held at the Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12th.

She is the first Angolan to win the crown, the 4th African Miss Universe, and the first black woman to win the crown since 1999.


Completing the top 5 were Miss Ukraine, Olesya Stefanko (1st runner-up), Miss Brazil, Priscila Machado (2nd runner-up), Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup (3rd runner-up), and Miss China, Lou Zilin (4th runner-up).


Top 10: Miss Australia (Scherri-Lee Biggs), Miss Costa Rica (Johanna Solano), Miss France (Laury Thilleman), Miss Panama (Sheldry Saez), and Miss Portugal (Laura Goncalves).

Top 16: Miss Colombia (Catalina Robayo), Miss Kosovo (Aferdita Dreshaj), Miss Netherlands (Kelly Weekers), Miss Puerto Rico (Viviana Ortiz), Miss USA (Alyssa Campanella), and Miss Venezuela (Vanessa Goncalves).

Special Awards: Miss Congeniality (Miss Montenegro, Nikolina Loncar), Miss Photogenic (Miss Sweden, Ronnia Fornstedt) and Best in National Costume (Miss Panama, Sheldry Saez).
