Remember, just a couple of months back, I mentioned a secret project I said I was going to be involved in? Well, If you read The New Paper last Friday, you’ll have noticed that they gave the Miss Singapore Universe 2011 finalists excellent coverage.
It’s no secret anymore; if I havent been clear enough, I’m one of the 10 finalists for the Miss Singapore Universe 2011 crown. The Miss Universe crown is probably the most prestigious crown that any beauty queen can wear in her entire lifetime. It probably is the most prestigious crown that any girl can wear honestly. Next to the Queen of England’s crown, that is. Haha.
In any case, finals are less than 10 days away (read: July 10th) and the girls are hard at work preparing to put up a good show. Sponsors have been kind this year and we have a very strong team to ensure that we’re well taken care of from head to toe. From each strand of our hair to our nails, unwanted bodily hair and jiggly waistlines, everything is being placed in the hands of experts to ensure a complete makeover. No beauty queen is complete without her arsenal of secrets and these are the people we have to thank for making us beautiful.
Jog Swimwear for putting us in those sexy bikinis everyone loves to ogle at.
Harley Davidson for making us all rocker chicks with their funky apparel.
Hayden Boutique for stunning evening gowns fit for queens.
glominerals mineral make up which I’ve previously raved about here for the excellent make up that actually has benefits to your skin. Pink Parlour for taking care of our nails and unwanted hair. Riccino for the 5 inch heels that beauty queens should never be caught without. Cutis Medical Laser Clinic for the glowing complexions. Lumiere for our slim and sexy waistlines. Orchard Scotts Dental for our perfectly polished pearly whites.
Special thanks need to be given to the wonderful team of The Hair Secrets for never failing to give us hair and make up such that each girl is immaculately made up every single time we step into public. Fotocology who captures and immortalises us. Hayden, our Creative Director, for constant guidance and Ida Ong from Imp International for polishing those raw diamonds into brilliant ones. Last but not least, the organisers for which Miss Singapore Universe would never happen, Derrol Stepenny Promotions you are the driving force behind it all.
No body said it was easy being beautiful and it’s even tougher being a beauty queen. But with these amazing people behind each and everyone of us, even ugly ducklings can turn into a swan. Just as how behind every successful man is a woman, behind every successful woman is a team of amazing people.
