Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2012 was held in Centro de Bellas Artes Luis Ferré in San Juan, Monday evening. The winner was 19-year-old Bodine Koehler Peña, representing Rio Grande. The 1.82 m. tall beauty is a model for six years and speaks four language. Koehler will represent the tiny islands of Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2012.
Meanwhile, hailed as first runner-up is Vanessa de Roide Toledo (Carolina) while named as second runner-up is Gabriela Berríos Pagán (Toa Alta). Jennifer Guevara Campos (Arroyo), Nadyalee Torres (Aguas Buenas) and Shaleyka Vélez Avilés (Aguada) completed the Top 6 finalists.
Toledo will try to clinch the Miss Intercontinental 2012 title while Berríos will compete for the title Miss Supranational 2012. Guevara and Torres, on the other hand, will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Continente Americano 2012 and Top Model of the World 2012 respectively.
Verónica Rodríguez Hernández (Camuy), Sacha Valdés Orta (Loíza), Mara Liz Rivera Ramos (Mayagüez) and Darla Pacheco Montañez (Yabucoa) completed the Top 10 semi-finalists.
The rest of the Top 16 were Nicole Marie Pérez Aponte (Cayey), Beverly Álvarez Torres (Lajas), Raiza González Montes (Morovis), Sug Haley Torres Feliciano (Sábana Grande), Rahman Khalil Mohamed (Toa Baja) and Jennifer Luyando Cruz (Yauco).
